Starlet L. Hayes is a highly accomplished fundraising and mission advancement professional with over 30 years of experience leading development efforts, strengthening donor relationships, and driving organizational growth. Throughout her career, she has successfully built and directed fundraising departments, developed strategic partnerships, and implemented data-driven strategies to enhance program funding and community engagement. With expertise in annual fund plans, major gifts, annuall campaigns, and corporate sponsorships, Starlet has played a pivotal role in increasing financial resources and expanding the impact of multiple nonprofit organizations.

Most recently, as Vice President of Mission Advancement at Wellpoint Care Network, Starlet led both fundraising and community engagement initiatives, significantly increasing community outreach and donor engagement. Under her leadership, the organization successfully connected with over 5,000 community members in one year while securing vital funding to address social determinants of health. She has developed and executed comprehensive fundraising strategies, ensuring the achievement of key financial and mission-driven goals. Her expertise extends to board engagement, strategic planning, and donor stewardship, enabling organizations to cultivate long-term philanthropic relationships.

Prior to her tenure at Wellpoint Care Network, Starlet held leadership roles at IndependenceFirst, YMCA of Metro Milwaukee, Next Door, and Harambee Community School, where she managed multimillion-dollar fundraising campaigns, revitalized donor engagement programs, and strengthened corporate and foundation partnerships. She successfully increased fundraising revenue by 46% at IndependenceFirst and led high-impact initiatives such as Giving Tuesday campaigns, capital campaigns, and large-scale fundraising events. Her ability to analyze data, identify growth opportunities, and foster meaningful donor connections has consistently led to increased funding and organizational success.

A dedicated community leader, Starlet is a long-standing member of the Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP) and Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, as well as an active leader in her church’s community outreach programs. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Business Management from Alverno College, with minors in Computer Studies and Philosophy. With her vast experience, strategic mindset, and passion for philanthropy, Starlet continues to drive mission advancement and financial sustainability for the organizations she serves.
